Dictionary Leaves

I painted today. Experimented with my idea of using dictionary cutouts on canvas (mixed media!). It was tricky getting them to stay at first, but liberal amounts of glue-stick glue and acrylic paint seemed to help and gives the painting a really nice effect. I went with a simple still life piece and think it turned out pretty well.

I haven’t been able to log-on to WoW recently, as I’m sharing computer cords again, but hopefully I’ll get to do that soon. Also, now that the new iMacs are out, when we have enough saved, maybe we can get one of those…27 inches of gaming goodness.

Mountains in the clouds…

So this morning on the flight home I happened to glance out the airplane window and see a mountain top peeking through the clouds. I grabbed my ipad a few minutes later and started drawing it….then I accidentally deleted it…so I had to start all over. Sometime tonight (if I don’t fall asleep) or tomorrow I’ll do an actual painting of it, because it was just absolutely amazing – in the mean time, here’s my 2 minute finger drawing…

Watercolor on the West Coast #9 and #10

Yesterday, I woke up feeling sort of bad and didn’t end up doing anything, so this morning (still sickish) I made two pieces. The first, for yesterday, I just drew in my notebook, and the second is inspired by a friend. :) Hopefully we’ll all get over whatever we’re coming down with quickly.

Art on the West Coast (#6)

Today we went to the slopes and some of the people in our group skied, and Alex and I went tubing. Needless to say, I didn’t do any watercolors, but I did manage to get my daily dose of art in while I was warming up and watching the snowboarders come down the mountain.

Turns out bringing my tiny sketchpad and sharpie pen is a good idea.
